Read the Bible!

Chad Haygood

The new year is right around the corner. Today, all of our attention is devoted to Christmas because in a little more than a week we'll be celebrating the birth of the Savior. But one week later, we know that we'll be beginning a new year. With a new year comes new goals, new resolutions, new commitments, and new hope.

One resolution I hope you make every year is a resolution about Bible reading. Among the resolutions made for exercise, work, and diet we must have resolutions regarding our time in the Bible. I hope that this coming year you'll be more committed to the Bible than you've ever been. I hope that you'll read more of the Bible than you ever have. I hope that you'll hear God through His Word more than ever in 2012.

If you're going to succeed, you've got to have a plan. You've got to have a map to direct you if you'll reach the destination of consistent, faithful Bible reading. Fortunately, there are MANY great Bible reading plans out there. You can google search "Bible reading plans" and see a plethora of options. I want to give you a few.

ESV.org has served us all by giving us several plans that you can choose from and follow as you desire. What's even more impressive is that you can have these plans imported to your calendar, sent to your cell phone, or even emailed to you daily! It's easy to do! Follow this link and you see several plans to choose from. Pick one, pray for God's help, and let God's Word transform us all in 2012!
