Visiting a new place and meeting new people can be intimidating. Once you meet us, we believe you will feel comfortable and at ease but until then, here are some things that will be helpful to know as you plan to attend.
We meet together for worship at 10:30am on Sunday mornings at 1220 W. 18th St., Hastings. Please come dressed in any way that is comfortable for you, most of us dress casually.
Entrance
On the west side of the building, you will see two double doors that serve as the entry to our sanctuary. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone from our church who is eager to meet you and welcome you!
Childcare
We have nursery and childcare available for children ages 0-5 during our services. This nursery is just outside of our sanctuary, through a set of doors that lead you into the rest of the building. When you go through those doors, turn right and you will see our nursery area. You can make your way there as soon as you arrive and go through our simple check-in process. Someone will be there to help you check your child(ran) in.
Please know that your child’s safety is extremely important to us. All of our nursery and children’s ministry workers have gone through background checks and have been trained in child protection procedures through an organization called MinistrySafe. We do everything that we can to ensure that your child’s experience will be enjoyable and safe.
Service
Our service is made up of singing, Bible readings, prayers, preaching, and a lot of informal conversations. We typically sing 3-4 songs with a mix of hymns and contemporary worship music. Our sermons last approximately 30-40 minutes and typically cover specific portions of Scripture. We use the English Standard Version of the Bible, but if you do not have a Bible we are happy to give you one or you can look on the screens at the front, where each Bible verse will be displayed.
After the Service
Spending time together after the service is also important to us. If you are comfortable, please hang around because we would love to get to know you. We enjoy meeting new people and learning how we can serve you and encourage you to take steps toward Jesus Christ. Whether you are learning about Jesus or have been walking with him for many years, we are eager to serve you. We would love to read the Bible with you, pray with you, or find any other way to help you feel encouraged and at home.
